How will you make an impact?

M.Data Monetization International is a web-based solution to share anonymous, aggregated sales data from the Metro Data Warehouse with Metro suppliers. The solution offers predefined reports for data exploration and benchmarking. Selling data to our suppliers provides a new business area for METRO and contributes to our EBIT year by year.

At the same time, our suppliers benefit from valuable insights about their products. Internal employees and suppliers have the same view on the same data. Different services (Base Package 1 or 2 + selection of various reports) are available, which offer different data aggregation levels, KPIs, and insights.

Your Responsibilities:

• Involved in all phases of software engineering, from inception to coding, testing, delivery, and operation;
• Develop high-quality code that follows best practices and clean code principles;
• Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance;
• Collaborate with other engineers or team members on various layers of the infrastructure to design and launch new features;
• As an experienced engineer, I interact with clients to understand and characterize their needs and advise them if necessary.

What are we looking for?

• 4+ years of experience working on frontend software using Vuejs and Nodejs (or similar frameworks);
• Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle);
• Knowledge of version control as GIT and version control repositories as Github
• Good understanding of cloud technology (preferably Google Cloud Platform with AppEngine);
• Knowledge of continuous integration & deployment tools e.g., GitHub Workflows, Jenkins
• Experience in designing, developing, and deploying microservice-based applications;
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices, the craftsmanship of clean and efficient code;
• Experience in unit testing and end-to-end testing tools (good to have, automated would be a plus);
• Familiarity with the standard software design patterns, web applications, and web services architectures, RESTful APIs;
• Knowledge of the English language at an advanced level
