Purpose of your new department:

Aggregating and managing all product data is cornerstone for any digital commerce strategy. As METRO accelerates it’s digital presence, the demand for complete digital product master data set is mandatory in a consistent, accurate and up-to-date, throughout the value chain.

The aim of Article Master Data domain is to offer the relevant master data, digital assets in the right quality to all consumers across all channels. To achieve this goal METRO decided to use Product Information Management developed by Stibo Systems, one of the PIM leaders on the market as we are committed to follow GS1 standard. We are at the beginning of the journey implementation in the pilot METRO country. 

It’s the perfect time to join us, to drive the PIM journey forward and rollout the solution across 23 countries in next 3 years.


Your new challenges:

As a Domain Owner/Head of Product for Article Master Data, you will play an essential role in driving the strategy for the new generation of METRO PIM and Article Master Data. You will lead a team of 10 Product Owners (total team of 50, matrix organization) and guide them to develop product strategy & roadmap, while delivering strong business outcome via OKRs.

Expertise

  • You are in a similar role or have relevant expertise, which includes people leadership experience. You have proven track record to leverage the skills, capabilities, and efficient contribution of a highly skilled team;
  • You have experience in leading and implementing PIM solution for food/fashion retailer/wholesaler;
  • STIBO Experience would be a plus;
  • You have passion for master data and would be happy to take an extra mile each day to improve the quality of master data for METRO;
  • Follow the standard 4D product methodology and data-driven decisions to drive product;
  • You have excellent analytical skills, love data, solve problems in a systematic way, and you can drive initiatives from start to completion;
  • You are entrepreneurial, a fast learner, and feel at ease working independently and dealing with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment;
  • You have excellent communication skills in English to work in our truly international team.


Responsibilities:

People management

  • Acts as a mentor and coach for direct reports (e.g. define development roadmap and career path);
  • Proactively uses employee satisfaction related instruments to better understand and address employee-related topics;

  • Responsible for determining important strategic initiatives for the domain, identify cost optimization opportunities, help creating business cases and driving the prioritized initiatives to completion;
  • Works efficiently with OKRs and always focuses on delivering strong Business outcome;
  • Promotes and ensures the understanding of the strategy within the domain;
  • Defines the vision and the mission for the domain;
  • Tracks the implementation of domain’s strategy;
  • Supports the innovation and the digital transformation of METRO business;
  • Implements company strategic decisions and initiatives;
  • Consciously strives for the understanding of the organizational eco-system (e.g. MAG, countries, partners);
  • Engages in experimental initiatives meant to increase the organizational efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Participates to internal and external networking events;
  • Promotes unit’s products towards other entities;
  • Identifies and integrates interdependencies with other domains and solutions.

Stakeholder management

  • Partners with our Commercial teams to provide relevant metrics, KPIs, meaningful analysis and business insights, required for decision making, in order to identify efficiency leavers and monitor target achievements;
  • Moderates workshops/discussions with our business stakeholders and align on strategic initiatives.

Budget

  • Optimizes the allocated budget for domain’s solutions and products;
  • Plans employees’ related costs and business solutions related costs.
